Police renew $1 million appeal in Bowraville child murders, visit Macksville this week.

Police have renewed the Bowraville child-murder appeal with a $1 million reward. Homicide detectives are in Macksville this week to speak with community members.

Between 1990 and 1991, three children—Colleen Walker-Craig, 16; Clinton Speedy-Duroux, 16; and Evelyn Greenup, 4—disappeared. Two sets of remains were found near Congarinni Road; Colleen’s body has never been recovered.

A man was charged separately over Evelyn’s and Clinton’s deaths but later acquitted; a 2018 bid to overturn those acquittals and order a retrial was dismissed by the Court of Criminal Appeal.

“Maybe you were afraid to speak... But it might matter,” pleaded Rebecca Stadhams, mother of Evelyn Greenup. Homicide Squad Commander Joe Doueihi said: “If you know something... now is the time to come forward.”
